A variator is a component in a motorcycle’s continuously variable transmission (CVT) system, commonly found in scooters and some automatic motorcycles. It is responsible for adjusting the gear ratio smoothly and continuously as the vehicle accelerates or decelerates. The variator consists of a set of adjustable pulleys and weights that change their position relative to each other, altering the diameter of the pulley and thus the gear ratio. This allows for seamless acceleration and efficient power delivery without the need for manual gear changes. The variator helps optimize engine performance and fuel efficiency by providing a range of gear ratios for varying riding conditions.
The roller weights act as the scooters gears, constantly changing position as the spinning rate varies. This kit is compatible with a long list of 50cc scooters. The roller weights included in this kit may slightly vary in weight (8 grams approximately).
