Bought this product after i noticed a large scuff mark down the side of my car (damn those car washes!!). I was quite annoyed as I have brand new 09 plate Mazda 6 and the car wash left a fairly large and noticable scuff mark along the nearside passanger door and all over the handle. So I decided to invest in a scratch remover and after reading a LOT of information on the web and getting quite confused along the way, i decided that this particular product was getting regular positive reviews. I was a bit scepitcal as often these types of products dont live up to the hype and what they claim so it was with a lot of trepidation that i took the plunge.
What you get in the box are two 25g tubes (No 1 is the cutting compound and No 2 is the polish), 2 cleaning cloths and 4 strips of sandpaper. Instructions are recommended as follows: For superficial scratches (ones that you can run a fingernail over without feeling the scratch) it is recommended that you clean the area with a cloth first, apply some of tube No 1 to one of the cleaning cloths and go over the scratched area in a circular motion applying pressure for approx 1-2 mins. Then you apply some of tube No 2 to the second cloth and go over the scratched area to polish it and give it a mirror finish. The sandpaper is needed if the scratch can be felt by running your fingrnail over it, in which case you need to sand down the sratched area first being careful not to expose the primer!! Then use No 1 and No 2 as mentioned above.
Lucky for me, my scuff marks were superficial so i didnt need to sand anything. I must admit, i had to apply tube No1 for slightly longer the a couple of mins and after a while my hand was cramping up!! Saying that though you can actually SEE the product working before your eyes, its amazing. The scuff marks that were so prominent earlier, were disappering as i was rubbing the compound in. After applying the polish the scratched area was as good as new! I tried looking for any masked scratched marks or any trace of them being there and couldn’t find anything. Highly highly recommended!
